Description: The Latina/o Caucus marched in the Puerto Rican Day parade for the first time in June of 1990. It was the first HIV/AIDS organization to participate in the popular City-wide event and they were met with contempt from organizers but cheers from the public. The Latina/o Caucus members incorporated the subversion of gender and religious norms in their actions, dressing up in drag and using Catholic iconography.
